Reaktor's tech community is looking for an experienced Senior Fullstack Developer to join one of our Business Units in Lisbon.
If you are comfortable working across modern web applications, backend services and production systems, enjoy solving ambiguous problems with clients, and are curious to work in a low-hierarchy environment, you might just be what we’re looking for.
You will support clients across a range of digital product, platform and service domains. The exact client context may vary from focused product teams to large international companies working on high-traffic, business-critical services.
Many of our clients are technically mature and expect a high level of expertise from our consultants. This means you will need to be hands-on, pragmatic and comfortable helping both the client and the team make good technical decisions.
Your daily tasks may include:
- Building and improving modern web applications, backend services, APIs and data models
- Working across frontend, backend and infrastructure depending on the needs of the client project
- Helping clients choose suitable technologies, architecture and delivery approaches
- Contributing to cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, deployments and production quality
- Debugging, testing, monitoring and improving production-grade systems
- Working on products or tooling related to customer-facing services, internal platforms, identity, martech, customer support, analytics, online stores, integrations, developer tooling or SDKs
- Collaborating directly with client tech teams, business stakeholders, designers, product people and other disciplines
- Clarifying ambiguous requirements and turning them into working software
- Taking responsibility for delivery while making sure the team is supported and no one is left behind
- Using modern development practices, including openness to AI-assisted development tools and workflows
To thrive in this position, you’ll need:
Must-haves
- Strong experience in modern frontend development, for example with TypeScript, JavaScript, React or comparable technologies
- Strong experience in backend service development, for example with Node.js, Java, Kotlin, Scala, Clojure, Python or comparable technologies
- Experience building, shipping and improving production-grade digital products
- Comfortable working across the full delivery lifecycle, from implementation to testing, deployment and production quality
- Understanding of cloud environments, CI/CD, deployments and how production systems are operated
- Ability to work directly with clients, stakeholders and other disciplines in a senior, consultative role
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to bring clarity to ambiguous product or technical situations
- A hands-on mindset — you are technically credible, actively contribute to the work and help the team move forward
- Fluent verbal and written English skills to collaborate in an international environment
We do not have a hard requirement around years of experience, but we have noticed that this level of fullstack, client-facing and production ownership usually takes several years of professional experience to build.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience from customer-facing digital products, online services, ecommerce, subscriptions, internal platforms, analytics, martech or similar product domains
- Experience with high-traffic or business-critical production systems
- Deeper experience with platform engineering, infrastructure-as-code or DevOps practices
- Experience with customer-facing products, internal tools, integrations, SDKs or developer tooling
- Familiarity with mobile development or React Native
- Finnish language skills
Adaptability
Willingness to work in a hybrid setup. This means balancing office, client premises and remote work depending on the client project and team needs.

FAQ
01 What are we looking for?
We believe there’s more that matters than just the resume. We’re looking for an exciting overlap of curiosity, creativity, people skills, and experience: people who are willing to learn, participate, and share new perspectives.
02 What does the hiring process look like?
We take the time to learn about your skills and aspirations and help you learn about ours. Our interview process usually involves three or four conversations over the course of a few weeks. From application to closing, our process takes about four weeks. Your recruiter will keep you up to date on what to expect from each stage of our interviewing process.
03 What kinds of projects do you have?
We do a variety of different kinds of projects, with the aim of each being meaningful and critical to a client’s business. Our typical engagements are from 6 months to 18 months and involve between 3-6 Reaktorians collaborating closely with our clients. When it comes to picking and choosing, we look at a number of things from the business side. For example, we tend to be interested in the multi-functional growth potential of the project as well as the technological and digital maturity of the client, their product, and the project overall. However, not all good business is a good fit for us culturally. We only take on new business that aligns with our values, is interesting for our people to work on, and has a great local or global impact.
04 How do we staff projects?
The core idea behind how we staff is that you will never be alone in a project. When staffing our projects, we first start by going through your preferences and ambitions for learning, be it customer location, the field of business, or some particular technology. We then go through your learning and self-development targets and do our best to match all of the above to a project. We get multiple projects and new openings in existing projects each month. If there isn’t a perfect fit immediately, we try to find a spot for you in an existing project or take some time while you work on internal projects, or get deeper into onboarding.
05 What do people do in between projects?
Client work is our number one priority, but we’ve gotten pretty good at making the most out of the normal in-between time in the consulting business. Maybe you’ve just joined us, your project has just ended, or you’re rotating out of one and looking for new opportunities, it can sometimes take a while to find the next client project. These are great opportunities to take training, dive into a new topic, or help out with internal development. Your time in between projects does not affect your pay.
06 Is it ok to work remotely?
It depends on the project in question, as we choose the option that fits best with each client. Sometimes projects are multisite, at other times, there are more on-site visits, and on rather rare occasions, we are 100% remote. That said, we love to see each other every once in a while and spend time together at get-togethers and occasional in-person meetings.
