Sales & Account Manager, Public Sector
Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV). Yle. European Broadcasting Union. These are the kinds of clients whose IT projects simply cannot afford to fail — systems and services millions of citizens rely on every day. At Reaktor's Public Sector unit, over 100 Reaktorians work on exactly these kinds of high-impact challenges.
We're looking for a driven Sales & Account Manager to help us grow this work — someone who wants business development to mean something bigger than closing deals, where "long-term client relationship" means actually improving the structures of society.
You don't need to be a fully established sales or account lead yet. You have at least 2-3+ years of experience in a relevant field (see below) and a passion to learn. What matters most is a solid foundation, strong motivation to grow in public sector business development, and the ability to learn from experienced colleagues while gradually taking on more independent responsibility.
Founded in 2000, Reaktor has 700+ employees across Helsinki, Turku, Tampere, New York, Amsterdam, Lisbon and Tokyo, working with clients like adidas, HBO, Supercell, Air France-KLM and KONE. In the public sector specifically, we specialize in critical IT projects that cannot afford to fail.
Your role
You'll work closely with Reaktor's Public Sector team and contribute to sales and account work from day one, learning by doing alongside experienced colleagues while taking ownership as you grow. In practice:
-
Run Reaktor's day-to-day Public Sector business, accounts and sales together with the team
-
Engage with clients, handle daily communications, and build strong long-term relationships
-
Help and support Reaktor's project teams (developers, designers, consultants) delivering the client work
-
Participate in public sales processes: tender documents, proposals, presentations, reference decks
-
Join customer meetings and present sales pitches that help win cases
-
Collaborate with Reaktor's partners and subcontractors to strengthen sales, staffing and delivery
-
Build your skills toward leading selected accounts, sales processes and client relationships over time
What we're looking for
-
2-3+ years in a customer-facing role — sales, account management, or as a consultant (project manager, service manager, strategy or technology consultant)
-
Fluent Finnish and English, with exceptionally strong Finnish writing skills — the role involves a lot of writing
-
Background in consulting or professional services
-
Strong relationship-building skills and a genuine drive to exceed the client’s expectations
-
Excellent collaboration skills, willingness to work with Reaktor’s project teams, support them and help them shine in their work
-
Attention to detail and comfort producing clear, structured sales materials — including the lengthy Excel documents that are often part of the public bidding competitions
-
A make-it-happen attitude, and curiosity to keep learning in the sales field
-
Experience coordinating or leading teams, projects or workstreams and experience in public sector sales processes are considered a plus
This is a hybrid role: 3-4 days/week on-site at our Helsinki HQ.
Why join us
You'll join a tight-knit core team of 8 in Reaktor's Public Sector Business Unit, taking shared responsibility for the success of our public sector business, delivery, and the people doing the work. We take our craft seriously — but not ourselves.
-
Reaktor is consistently ranked one of the best workplaces in Finland. Here, you'll get:
-
Purpose-driven work in a relaxed, warm atmosphere
-
Real opportunities to grow, with guidance, teamwork and hands-on responsibility
-
Autonomy and ownership over your work and its outcomes
-
A tight-knit, experienced, and genuinely fun Public Sector team that wants you to succeed

FAQ
01 What are we looking for?
We believe there’s more that matters than just the resume. We’re looking for an exciting overlap of curiosity, creativity, people skills, and experience: people who are willing to learn, participate, and share new perspectives.
02 What does the hiring process look like?
We take the time to learn about your skills and aspirations and help you learn about ours. Our interview process usually involves three or four conversations over the course of a few weeks. From application to closing, our process takes about four weeks. Your recruiter will keep you up to date on what to expect from each stage of our interviewing process.
03 What kinds of projects do you have?
We do a variety of different kinds of projects, with the aim of each being meaningful and critical to a client’s business. Our typical engagements are from 6 months to 18 months and involve between 3-6 Reaktorians collaborating closely with our clients. When it comes to picking and choosing, we look at a number of things from the business side. For example, we tend to be interested in the multi-functional growth potential of the project as well as the technological and digital maturity of the client, their product, and the project overall. However, not all good business is a good fit for us culturally. We only take on new business that aligns with our values, is interesting for our people to work on, and has a great local or global impact.
04 How do we staff projects?
The core idea behind how we staff is that you will never be alone in a project. When staffing our projects, we first start by going through your preferences and ambitions for learning, be it customer location, the field of business, or some particular technology. We then go through your learning and self-development targets and do our best to match all of the above to a project. We get multiple projects and new openings in existing projects each month. If there isn’t a perfect fit immediately, we try to find a spot for you in an existing project or take some time while you work on internal projects, or get deeper into onboarding.
05 What do people do in between projects?
Client work is our number one priority, but we’ve gotten pretty good at making the most out of the normal in-between time in the consulting business. Maybe you’ve just joined us, your project has just ended, or you’re rotating out of one and looking for new opportunities, it can sometimes take a while to find the next client project. These are great opportunities to take training, dive into a new topic, or help out with internal development. Your time in between projects does not affect your pay.
06 Is it ok to work remotely?
It depends on the project in question, as we choose the option that fits best with each client. Sometimes projects are multisite, at other times, there are more on-site visits, and on rather rare occasions, we are 100% remote. That said, we love to see each other every once in a while and spend time together at get-togethers and occasional in-person meetings.
