“If anything, AI raises the bar for engineering” – Nick Evon joins Reaktor as Chief People Officer

April 24, 2026

Nick Evon joins Reaktor as the Chief People Officer. He will start in his role in the global leadership team in August 2026, and comes to Reaktor from Wolt/Doordash, where he worked as Director of International HR & Operations.

“Nick’s experience in a growing international technology company couldn't be a better fit for where we are headed”, says Pekka Horo, Reaktor’s CEO.

Evon will be responsible for taking care of Reaktor’s people and culture. His work will entail looking after recruitment, talent development, compensation and benefits, DEI matters and leadership development.

It’s clear to me Reaktorians care deeply about the quality of their work and how that work is done. At the same time, Reaktor is at a point where it’s evolving: scaling, specializing, and adapting to a changing market. That naturally creates tension, but also a lot of opportunity”, Evon says, and continues:

“I’m interested in helping navigate exactly this moment: where what has made Reaktor successful needs to be made more scalable, without losing what has made it distinctive.”

What is engineering and design in the age of AI?

Evon joins Reaktor at an interesting time in the technology industry. There’s an ongoing discussion about how AI will impact software developers and designers. Some think the current trajectory points towards a mass loss of engineering jobs, while hiring trends globally show another story.

“There’s still strong demand for experienced engineers and designers, especially as AI changes the shape of the work. If anything, that raises the bar further. The real challenge is creating the conditions where that talent can do their best work, with enough autonomy, but also enough clarity and shared standards”, Evon says.
