Amsterdam office
Amsterdam office is a key node in our European operations. Here we have Reaktorians from all over the world - right now we are a team of twenty nationalities - and we are always on the lookout for number twenty-one!
At Reaktor, you will solve meaningful and challenging tasks with a friendly team of the brightest minds. We hire a personality, not a pair of hands. Here you’re free to express your personal quirkiness, explore different domains and technologies, and shape your own development path.

Amsterdam Office Culture
We have a 5-star Glassdoor rating. The main reason? In everything we do, we put people first.
We are relatively small in scale (50 people and growing). But we are backed up in every sense of the word by Reaktor at large. This allows us to form meaningful connections with every team member and ensure that everyone has a say in how the company works.
Reaktor is known for its flat hierarchy and the Amsterdam office is the first one to test a new form of management: putting a Leadership team in charge instead of a single CEO.

Let's have fun
We love to spend time together! To keep the Reaktorian community blooming, we organize Thursday dinners and hang out at the office playing video games on Fridays.
You can participate in a podcast club, organize a cycling trip, or join a group to dive deeper into code with friends. There are tons of Slack hobby channels for you to choose from or suggest new ones.
Also, we have a company boat ready to take you around the Amsterdam canals. We can even teach you to skipper it as well!
Our office

We call our Amsterdam office a “Nordic dream house”. You’ll get the ultimate Amsterdam experience by working in a three-story canalside house with a 24-foot office boat by its side. Expect a refuge away from home, a healthy dose of Finnish tradition, and spaces to let ideas simmer.

Perks of Reaktor Amsterdam
We offer everything you’d expect of a tech company, but what really makes us different is our culture — and that isn’t so easy to put on paper. Nevertheless, we’ll give it a try:

What are we working on?
We work in close co-operation with top clients to help them succeed in technology. For that reason, you’ll be spending time between the client’s premises and our beautiful office in Jordaan once we are back in person. Some of our projects are carried out across offices, so part of your team might be based in Tokyo, Helsinki, or New York.

Growth opportunities
There is no one way to build a career at Reaktor because we don’t believe in titles and rigid management systems. Reaktorians enjoy working with juniors and seniors on the shiny and dirty bits of the codebase alike.
However, there are multiple ways you can grow. In your everyday work you’ll be surrounded by brilliant minds happy to share their knowledge. You can regularly take part in global communities of practice where we discuss our latest findings and challenges. Also, we trust you to choose whichever conference / course / book you see that’s relevant for your development.
Who you'll be working with

We are looking for a Reaktorian spirit which exists beyond tech requirements. We believe in hiring a complete person, a colleague that is great to spend time with and curious about learning new things. We are eager to hear what makes your eyes light up: some of us are passionate about assembling motorcycles, others like to share the best recipe to bake bread, and some won’t stop talking about music festivals. The point is, we expect you to bring your passion to work.
What Reaktorians say:
Where Reaktorians come from
The Amsterdam office has a unique vibe with a lively mix of 22 nationalities.
We provide relocation and visa support to new Reaktorians and make sure that they settle in Amsterdam as smoothly as possible. You can stay in a company apartment and get any help you need with registration, setting up a bank account, and getting your first bike. Also, your fellow colleagues will be happy to give advice on the best bitterballen in the neighbourhood.
We can help you with your application for the 30% ruling (if applicable) that allows people moving to the Netherlands to benefit from for up to 5 years.

Diversity
We know we still have a long way to go in making our environment as welcoming and inclusive as possible. For example, women represent only 27% of the Reaktor Amsterdam team.
Aiming to change the situation, we now have a DEI group helping us understand our biases and find ways to act on it. We actively participate in events supporting underrepresented groups in tech, conduct surveys among our employees, and try our best to treat everyone with respect and understanding in our day-to-day actions.

Wondering how you ended up on the XXX URL? 😄
It might not be what you’re thinking – XXX stands for the official flag of our favourite city Amsterdam.
There are a couple of theories what these X’s symbolise and apparently the most popular one – representing three dangers of Fire, Floods and the Black Death – is wrong. You can check the more historically grounded explanations here.
