Eliminating needless noise.
Ten years since it first became available to consumers, Sports Tracker on iOS was starting to show its age. Together we reinvented the experience on iOS and came out with a modern app that focuses on the essential.
At the heart of the new concept are your own workouts and content, providing a motivational boost with social interactions, and goal-setting. The redesigned visuals allow content and photography to take center stage, and a streamlined experience makes the app easy to use, even while out in the sunshine or on the trail.
To deliver on the concept, the team introduced rigorous agile development methods and a modern tech stack that made it possible to develop the new app quickly and efficiently.
The home feed
Focus on your content.
The home feed is a simple yet powerful view that combines your own workouts with updates from people you follow and relevant content from other Amer Sports’ brands, like Wilson, Atomic and Suunto.
This makes it easy to see not only your own workouts, but also what others are up to, and get inspiration for your own active journey.
Get a motivation boost
The app encourages social interactions to provide friends and peers with a little extra boost. Enabling social interaction directly from the home feed helps keep up motivation – and ultimately makes the app more fun to use.
You can also follow interesting peers or Sports Tracker ambassadors, like the 100m hurdles Olympic champion Brianna Rollins, or the skyrunning world champion Emelie Forsberg.
Designed to support active habits
The new app is designed to support the formation of exercise habits and to make tracking your own progress extra-simple. Added workout analysis makes it possible to track progress over time, so you can look at a whole month or year in one view.
You can also compete against their previous performance on the same route, and get detailed analysis on their performance, while notifications and the fun, lightly competitive leaderboard make it easier than ever to stay motivated.
