Reaktor partnered with Lepaya, where 12 team members piloted their Fostering Diversity & Inclusion course to learn how unconscious biases can affect judgment, and most importantly, how to create a work environment that welcomes everyone. The team is now working on rolling out the course to all of Reaktor Amsterdam.
Responsible Reaktor
The brave new world is built in many ways every day, and the tech industry plays a key role: It's our biases that can scale up from the individual level to products, services, and structures of society.
We are in the business of changing how the world works. That means we can also shape it for the better.
We treasure sustainability, diversity, and accountability – the act of being human. Ever since our early days 20 years ago, we’ve put effort into these topics both in our work and within ourselves.
Here you’ll find some of our long-term partnerships, development programs, and favorite projects.
Diversity, equity, inclusion
At Reaktor, we strive for salary openness, promote individual professional growth with mentoring, development discussions, and personal career plans, and support Reaktorians with families – regardless of their gender or whether it’s their kids or parents that need assistance. We regularly arrange internal trainings for accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion. And the same thinking applies in the context of our work.
deidei is an agency with diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI) in its DNA. At Reaktor, we proudly collaborate with deidei to normalize diversity, strive for equity, and build inclusion within our organization and in our projects.
Hustle Crew is on a mission to make tech more inclusive. We’ve proudly collaborated with them on everything from recruitment to our projects.
Reaktor is giving out 50 free Premium Conference Passes to support underprivileged women willing to attend European Women in Technology in Amsterdam – Europe’s largest tech event for women.
Tech is for everyone
Technology is more important than ever, deeply affecting culture, business, and society. We want everyone to have a chance at it.

Reaktor Code School for Kids
Reaktor Code School for Kids, now with locations in New York City and across Finland, provides an exciting introduction to the basics of programming for all children between the ages of 5 and 9. Lessons are fun, free of charge, and taught by Reaktor developers.

United Nations
AI, when used right, provides us with wonderful opportunities. We offered our thoughts on the topic at a recent UN Conference, titled Frontier Technologies for Accelerating Sustainable Development. Speakers included a cross-section of government and UN leaders, academic researchers, and private sector innovators.

Techqueria
With Techqueria we advance Latinx-centered spaces that center on career advice, technical talks, mentorship, open jobs, upcoming events/conferences, and speaking opportunities — even where to get great food.

Future Female
We want to educate the next generation of leaders and elevate women’s voices in the tech space. The event we organized with Future Female for International Women’s Day focused on the future of EdTech.
Education shouldn’t be reserved for the few, or the rich. That’s why we set out with the University of Helsinki to train 1% of the world on the basics of artificial intelligence. We built a simple free online course and rallied everyone to sign up for it.
We believe in smart prisons – ones that work towards the rehabilitation of inmates – and are proud to collaborate with the Finnish government in offering free AI training at prisons across the country. Our Elements of AI course helps prisoners prepare for an ever-shifting job market and make use of their time in prison.

Hive Helsinki
Hive Helsinki is an independent, non-profit, higher-education-level coding school; the first of its kind in Finland. We stand by its ethos to lower barriers of entry into careers in tech. We’re proud to partner with Supercell and a host of other high-profile companies in making Hive a reality.

LEGO x Reaktor Code School
The coding school we set up with LEGO is fun for us and fun for the little ones. Most of all, it’s fun for the parents – they deserve a little time off too.
Impact in society
Reaktor has long been a strategy, design, and technology partner for forward-thinking companies – and societies.
Our medical caretakers do such important work. We’re proud to have helped ThankYouCareTakers.com make their site easy for people to send messages of appreciation to caretakers worldwide. The messages can be streamed in hospitals and clinics, for caregivers to see and feel the gratitude en masse.
An international collaboration integrating children’s rights into the heart of the design process. We were proud to support the initiative and serve as mentors for the co-creation of the official guide. Children deserve the highest level of expertise and engagement we can provide.

Supporting Venner's mission to help economically disadvantaged families
One out of ten children in Finland lives in poverty. Venner and Hope Ry strive to give the economically disadvantaged families a better Christmas through quality food. Together with our client K-Ruoka, we’re proud to support Venner’s and Hope ry’s valuable work.

UN Women
The seminar we hosted on the eve of International Women’s Day, with the Finnish National Committee for UN Women, explored the possibilities of digital innovation in driving a more equal society.
Sustainability
We aim at acting sustainably in everything we do. In our internal operations, we reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as possible. In the services and products we build, we care for sustainability and climate impact.

Save Pond Hockey
Save Pond Hockey organizes ice hockey tournaments, the proceeds of which go to local climate projects. We took part in the competition and won 5th place. Not too shabby!

Hello world!
Satellites are a core focus for us and they’re taking us farther than ever. That includes new ways of monitoring climate change. Reaktor’s very own Hello World satellite technology will be able to spot forest fires, gas leakages, and even illegal fishing vessels.
Culture and community
Great things happen when people come together.
From jazz to folk, from hip hop to boogie and techno – IDA is an online community radio based in Tallinn and Helsinki, showcasing underground and independent DJs and artists. Reaktor is a proud supporter of this rebellious creative movement.

Design Details
Whenever we find a fantastic podcast we can’t stop talking about it. Design Details’ human-centered look at the design process really resonates with us. We’re proud to support it.

Coders Without Clothes
Our employees stripped bare in what became a calendar to raise money for the pediatric cancer foundation. Our colleague’s daughter was diagnosed with leukemia and we wanted to help.

Hello World Open
This one’s for the history books: We’re proud to have organized the world’s first championships in coding. The Hello World Open games were way for us to say hello, unite coders around the world, and open up the field to the general public, turning coding into a national sport.
